Caledonia man claims huge prize

LANSING, February 22, 2008 – A very lucky player is $50,010 richer! He matched all eight numbers in an 8-Spot Club Keno game with a $5 wager to win $50,000! He also matched four of eight numbers on another draw to win an extra $10.

The winner was “screaming” after he realized he had won. He bought drinks for everyone in the bar. He has played the Lottery for a few years and has never won a large prize before.

The winning own pick ticket was purchased at Ucello’s Restaurant, 8256 Broadmoor Ave. SE, in Caledonia.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
