The long-time player of Fantasy 5, Classic Lotto 47 and Mega Millions picked his own numbers based on birthdates.

He learned of his good fortune by checking the Lottery’s Web site, which at first glance he didn’t believe. His wife had to confirm his original disbelief that he just became a very wealthy individual! With his prize money, the lucky man plans to pay bills and take his family on a vacation.

The winning ticket was purchased at Lincoln Party Store, 708 E. Lincoln Ave., in Royal Oak.

Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers.
