LANSING, January 28, 2008 – Twenty-one players came within one number of winning the Classic Lotto 47 jackpot on Saturday night! Each player won $2,500 for matching five of the six numbers, but the jackpot is still growing!

A whopping $19.1 million, the fourth largest prize in the country, is now up for grabs in Wednesday night’s drawing. Saturday’s winning numbers were 01 07 13 28 33 42.

Wednesday’s $19.1 million jackpot is the largest in the history of the game. If a winner matches all six numbers on Wednesday it would be the 25th largest jackpot ever awarded by the Michigan Lottery.

The next Classic Lotto 47 drawing is Wednesday at 7:29 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at any Lottery retailer and sales for Wednesday’s 7:29 p.m. drawing will close at 7:08 p.m. that night.

The Classic Lotto 47 jackpot starts at $1 million and grows by at least $100,000 each time the jackpot is not won.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
