LANSING, January 22, 2008 – You could be Michigan’s next multi-millionaire! The Classic Lotto 47 prize just keeps getting bigger, now with $18.2 million up for grabs!
Although no winners matched all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing, 20 lucky players matched five of six numbers to win $2,500 each. Saturday’s winning numbers were 05 09 18 21 22 46.
The $18.2 jackpot is the largest prize in the history of the Classic Lotto 47 game and if a winning ticket is sold in Wednesday’s drawing, it would be in the top 25 largest jackpots ever awarded by the Michigan Lottery.
The next Classic Lotto 47 drawing is Wednesday at 7:29 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at any Lottery retailer and sales for Wednesday’s 7:29 p.m. drawing will close at 7:08 p.m. that night.
The Classic Lotto 47 jackpot starts at $1 million and grows by at least $100,000 each time the jackpot is not won.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
