Super Raffle winner claims prize

LANSING, January 11, 2008 – Better late than never for one lucky Northville winner!

The anonymous player purchased a $100,000 winning Super Raffle ticket in for the Oct. 22 drawing, but didn’t cash the ticket until Dec. 13!

The winner said she bought the ticket and put it in her purse, when she discovered it a few months later she realized it was a big winner.

She plans to save some prize money and use some to pay bills.

The winning ticket was purchased at CVS Pharmacy 08009, 133 E. Dunlap St., in Northville.

The Oct. 22 Super Raffle drawing was for two $2 million prizes (annuitized), 25 $100,000 prizes and 4,500 $500 prizes. The Super Raffle was the fifth Raffle game offered by the Lottery.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
