LANSING, January 7, 2008 – The luck of Michigan Lottery players is crossing the state line!
David Schoville, 54, of Hurley, WI, traveled 550 miles to Lansing Monday to claim his $100,000 prize in the Lottery’s Jan. 2 Millionaire Raffle drawing. Schoville, whose hometown is just across the state line, purchased his ticket at Super One Foods in Ironwood. As a border resident, Schoville, who manages a night club, plays both Mega Millions in Michigan and Powerball in Wisconsin.
Schoville has various plans his prize money, including paying off his car and motorcycle and taking a vacation.
Also claiming a $100,000 prize Monday at Lottery headquarters was the Posen Pub Club. Members purchased their winning ticket at the Posen Pub. The members described themselves as old friends who experienced some serious hyperventilating when they realized they were winners!
The Millionaire Raffle drawing awarded six prizes of $1 million, 12 prizes of $100,000 and 2,000 prizes of $500.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
