Huge win for Warren couple

LANSING, December 20, 2007 – Cheryl Pizzimenti and her husband Vincent were shocked when they discovered they were holding on to a $250,007 Mega Millions ticket! The couple matched all five white ball numbers and three white ball numbers on the same ticket to win the prize.

The Pizzimenti’s, who have been regular Lottery players since 1972, plan to use the Dec. 7 easy pick winnings to pay their mortgage off, purchase furniture and take a vacation. The lucky winners have 21 grandchildren that they enjoy spending time with.

The winning ticket was purchased at Van Dyke & 16 Mile Mobil, 37405 Van Dyke Ave., in Sterling Heights.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
