Lucky Dog returns Enter your pooch now for a chance at fame!

LANSING, November 26, 2007 – Picture it now- your furry, four legged friend front and center on the new Lucky Dog Instant ticket! The Michigan Lottery invites you to enter your dog for the chance to be featured on the new Lucky Dog II Instant ticket.

Up to 10 dogs, whose photos are submitted via the Internet by members of the Lottery’s VIP club, Player CityTM, will be selected to appear on the Lucky Dog II instant tickets. Pet photos will be accepted until midnight Eastern Time, December 31, 2007. The lucky winners will be chosen shortly after the entry deadline by the Hon. Max Luck, mayor of Player City. The Lucky Dog game is scheduled to launch in the spring.

“Lucky Dog was one of our most successful instant tickets ever and we’re excited to showcase a new set of dogs with the new game!” Acting Lottery Commissioner Tom Weber said. “This is a great opportunity for Lottery players to really be a part of the process of game development.”

The first Lucky Dog ticket, which launched in April 2006, was named Best Instant Ticket in North America by the National Association of State and Provincial Lotteries.

To become a citizen of Player City and enter a photo, go to and follow the simple registration instructions. Membership is free.

Player City offers residents the opportunity to receive alerts about jackpots and new games, surveys and special offer coupons. Members also accumulate “PC Points” points for various on-site activities, including participation in the Lucky Dog contest, which awards 5,000 points. Points can then be redeemed for members-only contest entries and other activities.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
