Madison Heights club wins big

LANSING, November 21, 2007 – Seven lucky co-workers from Madison Heights claimed a $250,000 Mega Millions prize after they matched all five white ball numbers in the November 13 drawing.

The lucky winners said they will use the prize money to pay bills and prepare for the Christmas shopping season. The members of Jose’s Lottery Club have been playing together for about eight to 10 years. This is their largest win to date.

The lucky easy pick ticket was purchased the ticket at Ironhorse County Store, 7119 Main, in Smith’s Creek.

This ticket is the most recent in a string of lucky tickets sold in the Kimball Township area. Winning Super Raffle and Club Keno tickets were both sold in the area as well.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
