Eastpointe man wins $10,000

LANSING, November 15, 2007 – A longtime Lottery player is now $10,000 richer after matching four white balls and the gold ball in the Nov. 9 Mega Millions game.

Timothy Lauretti didn’t believe his luck when he first discovered his win. The 45-year-old man enjoys camping in his free time and has no immediate plans for the prize money.

Lauretti purchased the winning easy pick ticket at A & B Market, 18405 E. 9 Mile Rd., in Eastpointe.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
