Lottery club claims $10,000

LANSING, November 7, 2007 – A Saginaw Lottery club claimed $10,000 after matching four white ball numbers and the gold ball number in the Oct. 5 Mega Millions drawing.

The Lucky Losers Lottery club checked the numbers about a week after the drawing and learned their good fortune.  They hid the ticket in a fire safe and have no immediate plans for the prize money.

The club purchased the lucky winning easy pick ticket at Princing’s Pharmacy, 333 S. Michigan Ave., in Saginaw.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
