Kimball man claims prize

LANSING, November 5, 2007 – He walked away $10,000 richer!  Robert Wood matched four white ball numbers and the Mega ball in the October 23 Mega Millions drawing!

The lucky winner said he’s been playing the Lottery since 1972.  He checked his winning numbers in the newspaper and has no immediate plans for the prize money.

He purchased the winning ticket at Country Market Inc., 4520 Griswold Rd., in Kimball.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
