Howell man claims big prize

LANSING, November 5, 2007 – A very lucky player matched nine of 10 numbers in a 10-Spot Club Keno game to win $10,000!  The prize usually pays $5,000, but with the players Kicker option, the 2X Kicker doubled the prize.

Michael Johnson of Howell also matched four other lines on his ticket to tack on an extra $17, making his total prize a whopping $10,017!

Johnson said he was speechless when he realized the ticket had won.  He plans to use the money from his easy pick win to pay bills.  In his spare time the winner said he enjoys golfing and boating.

The lucky winning ticket was purchased at Bamboozles, 32350 W. Eight Mile, in Farmington Hills.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win.  Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time.  Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn.  The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
