LANSING, October 29, 2007 – A very lucky longtime Lottery player is $10,000 richer, thanks to the Mega Millions game.  Judy Fredrick matched four white ball numbers and the gold Mega ball to win the prize.

The lucky Woodhaven woman checked her Aug. 24 ticket on the Lottery’s Web site and was so shocked at her findings that she had to double check the numbers!  There are no plans for the easy pick winnings.

Fredrick purchased her lucky winning ticket at Tobacco Joe’s, 22488 Allen Rd., in Woodhaven.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
