LANSING, October 26, 2007 – The $827,483 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery’s Oct. 25 Fantasy 5 game has been claimed.
The lucky Lapeer man, who opted to remain anonymous, originally thought his ticket was only worth $1. To his surprise, he matched all five numbers to win the largest jackpot in the history of the game! He told Lottery officials that he can hardly believe his good fortune.
He has lots of plans for his prize money. They include helping family and friends, paying off debts, finishing a house addition, buying a new car, starting a college fund for his daughter, and investing.
The lucky winner enjoys sailing, golfing and fishing in his free time.
The winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Lake Nepessing Rd Party Store, 434 Lake Nepessing Rd., in Lapeer.
Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
