LANSING, September 26, 2007 – Jeanine Godush took a double glance of her Mega Millions ticket after learning it was a $10,000 winner! The Stevensville resident matched four white balls and the gold Mega ball in the Sept. 18 drawing to win the prize.
The lucky homemaker did not hide the easy pick ticket prior to cashing it in at the Lottery’s Wyoming office. She has no immediate plans for her prize money.
The winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Martin’s Super Market, 2121 Cleveland Ave., in St. Joseph.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
