Clinton Twp. man wins "Mega" prize

LANSING, July 31, 2007 – A lucky Clinton Twp. man is $10,000 richer after matching four white ball numbers and the gold ball number in the July 20 Mega Millions game.

Stephen Ziolkowski was “surprised” with his win after scanning his ticket at a party store.  He hid the ticket in a dresser prior to cashing it in at the Lottery’s Sterling Heights office.  The 53-year-old plans to put his prize money in the bank.

The winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Kroger #528, 41941 Garfield Rd., in Clinton Twp.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
