LANSING, July 23, 2007 – A 61-year-old retiree didn’t believe her $1,000,000 Lucky Stars ticket was actually a $10,000 winner! Janet Eberhart of Westland told Lottery officials that she checked the ticket “a hundred times” before taking it to the Dearborn Heights office to cash in.
The lucky regular Lottery player enjoys traveling and going to the casino in her free time. She has no immediate plans for her prize money.
The winning ticket was purchased at Wayne Medicine Mart, 417 S. Wayne Rd., in Westland.
$1,000,000 Lucky Stars is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
