LANSING, July 19, 2007 – A top prize on the Lucky Stars Instant game has been claimed!

Ilene Campbell of Stanton was the lucky winner of a $250,000 prize when she scratched a winning $250,000 Lucky Stars ticket.

Campbell, who plays the Lottery’s instant games regularly, said she scratched the ticket and then quietly went back to the store to ask the clerk to confirm the win.

She “did a happy dance” when she knew she had won.

The lucky winner said she plans to buy a new car and take a vacation.  She stored the winning ticket in a plastic baggie until cashing it in at the Lottery office in Lansing.

The winning ticket was purchased at New Turk Lake Market, 2023 S. Greenville Rd., in Greenville.

$250,000 Lucky Stars is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
