LANSING, July 19, 2007 – A very lucky Pinconning woman claimed $35,000 after she scratched a winning Cashword Instant ticket.
Rebecca Leonard was “shocked” when she realized she had won the game’s top prize. She hid the ticket in her desk before claiming her prize.
She plans to donate some of the money to her church and pay off her truck.
The winning ticket was purchased at Murphy’s USA, 900 Joel Mann Blvd., in Midland.
Cashword is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
