LANSING, July 5, 2007 – A lucky Michigan visitor got more than she bargained for when she scratched a winning $10,000,000 Game Book Instant ticket.
Kimberly Shubrook of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, said she hid the ticket in the freezer before cashing it in. She plans to use the $10,000 to pay bills and spend some on her grandchildren.
The winning ticket was purchased at Vega Market, 2800 Hamilton Rd., in Ferndale.
$10,000,000 Game Book is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
