Harrison Township man cashes in

LANSING, May 21, 2007 – Melvin Goralski matched four white balls and the Mega ball in the May 4 Mega Millions drawing and claimed a cool $10,000!

The winner, who has been playing the Lottery for 20 years, said he saw his numbers come up during the TV broadcast and hid the winning easy-pick ticket in his home.

The lucky winning ticket was purchased at D Brothers P/S Inc. III, 39650 Jefferson Ave., in Harrison Twp.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
