Police Officer wins big

LANSING, May 15, 2007 – A very lucky 27-year-old cashed in on a huge $10,000 prize!  Matthew Payne scratched a $10,000,000 Game Book ticket and had to check it several times before realizing it really was a big winner!

The ticket was very “safe” before Payne cashed it in at the Lottery’s Saginaw regional office.  He hid it in a gun locker at his police station!

The Otisville man plans to use his prize money to fix up his house.  He enjoys fishing and hunting in his free time.

The winning ticket was purchased at Conlee Oil of Montrose, 110-112 E. State St., in Montrose.

$10,000,000 Game Book is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
