Grand Rapids family claims prize

LANSING, May 9, 2007 – A very lucky winner from Grand Rapids has claimed a $100,000 prize in the April 20 Millionaire Raffle.

The lucky winner chose to remain anonymous; she said she has played the Lottery for about 15 years and bought tickets in both Millionaire Raffle games.

The winning ticket was checked at a self-serve terminal and when the winner asked the store, the clerk said “we’ve been waiting for you.”

The winner said she plans to use the money to pay bills and “enjoy some of it”.

The winning ticket was purchased at Parkside Foods, 1153 W. Fulton St., in Grand Rapids.

A complete list of all winning numbers is now available on the Lottery’s Web site https://www.michiganlottery.com/ and at Lottery regional offices.  Tickets can be validated at any Lottery terminal.

The second Millionaire Raffle game sold only 600,000 tickets at all Lottery terminals across Michigan beginning March 12, 2007.  Each ticket sold contained a unique six-digit number from 000001 to 500000.  The 918 Raffle tickets were randomly selected.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
