Another $1 million prize claimed

LANSING, May 9, 2007 – A very lucky winner has claimed a $1 million prize from the April 20 Millionaire Raffle game.

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said she plays the Lottery weekly and was shocked to win the prize.

She hid the ticket in a lock box before cashing the ticket at the Lottery office in Lansing.  She plans to use the prize money to make home improvements, take a vacation and invest.

The winner purchased the ticket at Kihn Party Store, 5490 Griswold, in Kimball.

A complete list of all winning numbers is now available on the Lottery’s Web site and at Lottery regional offices.  Tickets can be validated at any Lottery terminal.

The second Millionaire Raffle game sold only 600,000 tickets at all Lottery terminals across Michigan beginning March 12, 2007.  Each ticket sold contained a unique six-digit number from 000001 to 500000.  The 918 Raffle tickets were randomly selected.

Sales for a new raffle game, Super Raffle, will begin May 7.  The game will feature two prizes of $2 million each, 25 prizes of $100,000 each and 4,500 prizes of $500 each.  Tickets will be $50 each and only 250,000 will be sold.

Super Raffle will not take the place of Millionaire Raffle.  The next Millionaire Raffle game is expected to be launched in the fall.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
