Winner claims Bingo prize

LANSING, April 12, 2007 – A very lucky Metamora woman is $44,000 richer after she scratched a winning 4-Way Bingo Instant ticket!

Deborah Ladner said she has been playing the Lottery since in began in 1972.  She was in shock when she realized her ticket was a big winner, she initially thought she’d won $500!

Ladner said she hid the ticket in her purse and slept with it before cashing it in at the Lottery office in Sterling Heights.  She plans to use the money to go to her daughter’s graduation.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Pine Knob Wine Shoppe, 3492 S. Lapeer Rd., in Metamora.

4-Way Bingo is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
