Winner claims big prize

LANSING, April 12, 2007 – A very lucky Waterford man is $10,000 richer after he matched four white balls and the Mega ball in the April 3 Mega Millions drawing.

James Crider has been playing the Lottery for 21 years and this is his largest win to date.  He “couldn’t believe it” when he saw his winning numbers on the Lottery’s Web site.  He has no immediate plans for the prize money.

The man purchased his winning easy pick ticket at Cass Lake Party Shoppe, 1537 Cass Lake Rd., in Keego Harbor.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
