Lucky player wins $35,000

LANSING, April 11, 2007 – A Cashword Instant ticket proved lucky for one woman.

The regular Instant Lottery player counted the number of words several times before taking it to a retailer to verify her big win.  When the retailer told her the ticket was a $35,000 winner, the player “laughed, cried, and screamed!”

The lucky winner plans spend her prize money on her children and pay some bills.

The winning ticket was purchased at Jack’s Corner Store #3, 2381 E. Apple Ave., in Muskegon.

Cashword is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
