Postal worker wins $10,000 prize

LANSING, April 4, 2007 – A very lucky Southgate Lottery player is $10,000 richer today!  Daniela Gholston matched four white ball numbers and the gold Mega ball in the March 27 Mega Millions drawing to win the prize.

The lucky winner learned of her good fortune from the Lottery’s Web site.  She told Lottery officials that she was “too excited” about the good news.  The lucky winner has no immediate plans for her prize money.

Gholston purchased her lucky easy pick ticket at D & T Marathon, 1300 Southfield Fwy., in Dearborn.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
