Grand Rapids man wins $10,004 prize

LANSING, March 30, 2007 – Steve Moerman, a Grand Rapids salesman, won a $10,004 Club Keno prize!

Moerman matched nine of 10 numbers, betting $2 a hand to win $10,000.  He also matched five of 10 numbers two different times to win an additional $4.

The 55-year-old regular Lottery player watched his own pick numbers pop up on the screen to discover his good fortune.  He has no immediate plans for his prize money.

The winning ticket was purchased at Triangle Tavern, 1200 Walker NW, in Grand Rapids.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win.  Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time.  Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn.  The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
