Detroit Tigers Instant game is on the prowl!

LANSING, March 30, 2007 – To celebrate the start of the 2007 Detroit Tigers’ season, the Michigan Lottery is bringing you the Detroit Tigers $5 Instant game!

The Detroit Tigers ticket, on sale Monday, has top cash prizes of $100,000 and the chance to win season tickets for 2008.

“The Tigers are a team that Michigan can be proud of and we are thrilled to partner with them and bring our players this great Detroit Tigers Instant ticket,” Lottery Commissioner Gary Peters said.

In addition to $8 million in cash and instant prizes, non- winning Detroit Tigers tickets can be entered online for second chance prizes through the Lottery’s VIP site, Player City.  To qualify, players must enter one non-winning ticket via the Web site or mail the ticket to the address on the back of the ticket.

There will be four second chance drawings throughout the summer and four lucky players will win 2008 season tickets.  Also, 1,500 players will receive a prize pack that includes a home jersey, commemorative plaque, wind shirt, jacket, home and away cap and two seat cushions.  Drawings will be conducted on May 9, June 13, July 25 and September 5.  Entries must be received seven days prior to the drawing.

Players who haven’t already done so are encouraged to sign up and become “residents” of Player City.  To do so, players should go to  Registration is free and entitles “citizens” to a number of Lottery perks, including alerts about jackpots and new games, surveys and special offer coupons. 

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
