LANSING, March 27, 2007 – A very lucky Warren woman is $10,000 richer after she matched four white ball numbers and the Mega ball on the March 20 Mega Millions drawing.

Veronica Morfino, who has been playing the Lottery since it began, said she saw her winning numbers in the newspaper. She put the ticket on the refrigerator before cashing it in at the Lottery’s office in Sterling Heights. 

The lucky winner said she plans to share some of her prize money, as well as pay bills. She enjoys sewing, knitting and reading in her spare time.

The lucky easy pick ticket was purchased at Oak Ridge Market, 30800 Hoover Rd., in Warren.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
