$10,000 won by Berkley man

LANSING, March 12, 2007 – A lucky Mega Millions easy pick ticket paid off a whopping $10,000 prize to Robert Jorgensen of Berkley.  In the March 2 drawing, Jorgensen matched four white balls and the Mega ball to win the prize.

The regular Lottery player was ecstatic with his win.  At the time of claim, he had no plans for his prize money.  In his free time, Jorgensen enjoys fishing, hunting and golfing.

The lucky winning ticket was purchased at Birmingham Mobil, 101 E. 14 Mile Rd., in Birmingham.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
