Detroit woman wins $35,000

LANSING, February 27, 2007 – A lucky Detroit woman cashed in on a $35,000 Cashword Instant ticket at the Lottery’s Detroit regional office.

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, didn’t believe her good fortune until her brother confirmed her winning ticket.  She plans to use the prize money to pay bills.

The lucky winning ticket was purchased at Warren Liquor Express, 4101-4105 W. Warren Ave., in Detroit.

Cashword is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan   In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
