$10,000 Mega Millions prize claimed

LANSING, January 30, 2007 – Barney Miller of Fenton is a whopping $10,000 richer today.  The lucky 47-year-old matched four white ball numbers and the gold Mega ball to win the prize.

Miller learned of his good Mega Millions luck by a printout from a retailer.  He has no special plans for his prize money.

The lucky easy pick ticket was purchased at Fenton Party Store, 502 W. Silver Lake Rd., in Fenton.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
