LANSING, January 23, 2007 – A very lucky Waterford woman claimed a $10,000 prize earlier this week. Lisa Roth matched four white balls and the Mega ball in the Jan. 16 Mega Millions drawing to win the prize.
Roth’s husband learned of the winning ticket while looking at the Lottery’s Web site. The lucky winner and her husband plan to use the prize money to pay bills.
The lucky winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Champion Gas, 3783 S. Van Dyke Rd., in Marlette.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
