Lucky lady claims prize

LANSING, January 18, 2007 – A very lucky nurse from Capac is $250,000 richer!  She matched all five white balls, without matching the Mega ball in the Jan. 9 Mega Millions drawing.

Colleen Graves and her husband Don claimed their prize at Lottery Central in Lansing after playing the Lottery for nearly 20 years!  Before cashing the ticket, Don hid it in his shirt pocket.

They were in complete disbelief when Colleen heard her numbers on the Lottery’s automated numbers hotline, so she had to check on the Web site as well!  The couple plan to use the money to pay bills, buy their son a new car and make home improvements.

The lucky winner purchased the winning easy pick ticket at Amaco, 15250 24 Mile Rd., in Macomb.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
