Holiday "Gift" arrives late

LANSING, January 18, 2007 – She had to wait a few weeks, but a very lucky Clinton Township woman got a great holiday surprise when she scratched a $250,000 Gift Box ticket worth $250,000!

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said plays the Lottery regularly and was introduced to the games by her mother.  Coincidentally, her big win came on the five year anniversary of her mother’s death.

“I was in shock, I was laughing and crying all at the same time,” said the winner, who is self-employed.

The winning ticket was purchased at AMR & Sons Petro Mart, 35100 Gratiot Ave., in Clinton Township.

$250,000 Gift Box is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at more than 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
