$35,000 prize claimed

LANSING, January 18, 2007 – An Instant Cashword ticket paid off for a lucky Birch Run man who claimed $35,000!

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, and his wife “started screaming” when they realized their ticket was a big winner.

The couple hid the ticket in a picture frame and plan to use the money to remodel their kitchen.  The lucky ticket was purchased at Gobeyn’s Service, 6162 Dixie Hwy., in Bridgeport.

Cashword is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at more than 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
