Chesterfield woman wins $10,000

LANSING, January 12, 2007 – A lucky Chesterfield woman is $10,000 richer, thanks to the Dec. 29, 2006 Mega Millions drawing.

Mary Venditti is familiar with this prize amount – she has won $10,000 before this time!  The 10-year veteran of the Lottery hid the easy pick ticket in a safe before claiming it at the Lottery’s Sterling Heights office.

The lucky winning ticket was purchased at Smokers Only, 31245 23 Mile Rd., in Chesterfield Twp.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
