Clawson man wins $10,000 Club Keno prize

LANSING, January 5, 2007 – A lucky Clawson man won $10,000 when he matched nine of 10 Club Keno numbers on Dec. 22.

The normal prize payout for matching nine numbers is $5,000, but Howard Airpriess bet $2 a draw, doubling his total prize.

The regular Lottery player was excited when the numbers from his “own pick” ticket came up on the screen. The 59-year-old has no immediate plans for the prize money.

The lucky winning ticket was purchased at Renshaw Lounge, 210 E. 14 Mile Rd., in Clawson.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
