Retiree wins $35,000

LANSING, December 21, 2006 – A lucky woman claimed a top $35,000 prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Cashword Instant game.

The woman, who opted to remain anonymous, learned of her good fortune from a Lottery retailer.  She hid the lucky winning ticket in her closet before redeeming it at the Lottery’s Wyoming office.  She enjoys bowling and watching golf in her free time.

The winning ticket was purchased at The North Pole, 711 N. Westnedge Ave., in Kalamazoo.

Cashword is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
