Winner gets Golden Ticket

LANSING, November 27, 2006 – A very lucky Newport woman is $250,000 richer after scratching a winning Golden Ticket!

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, has been playing the Lottery since she as 18.  She was in disbelief when she scratched her winning ticket.

She hid the ticket in a sock drawer.  The prize money will allow the winner to quit her second job and to buy a car.

The winning ticket was purchased at Monroe Ventures LLC, 540 N. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe.

Golden Ticket is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $686.3 million.
