LANSING, November 27, 2006 – Penny Hewitt is very lucky!  She matched four white balls, plus the Mega ball in the November 10 Mega Millions drawing to win $10,000!

The lucky Petersburg woman said she was “very excited” when she realized she had won.  She has no immediate plans for her prize money.

The lucky easy pick ticket was purchased at Clip’s Carry Out, 6218 Memorial Hwy., in Ottawa Lake.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $686.3 million.
