$10,000 prize claimed

LANSING, November 3, 2006 – A “very happy” Warren man won big when he matched four white ball numbers, plus the Mega ball in the October 27 Mega Millions drawing.

Leonard DeMaeght, a player of 33 years, said he plans to use his prize money “for fun”.  He claimed his prize at the Lottery office in Sterling Heights.

The lucky easy-pick ticket was purchased at A&B Wine Shoppe #2, 14405 E. 9 Mile Rd., in Warren.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $686.3 million.
