$2.4 million claimed

LANSING, October 24, 2006 – Richard Hample of Clinton Township is a very lucky man!  He matched all six numbers in the Oct. 18 Classic Lotto 47 drawing to win $2,453,999.

The lucky winner, who works at the store where he purchased the ticket, said he plans to invest his prize money.

He has been playing the same set of “own pick” numbers for 18 years.  The numbers are based on the birth dates and ages of his two children.

The winning ticket was purchased at Kroger #611, 3843 15 Mile Rd., in Sterling Heights.

Classic Lotto 47 replaced WinFall.  Drawings for the game are conducted at 7:29 pm every Wednesday and Saturday night.  Jackpots start at $1 million and grow by at least $100,000 each drawing.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
