West Bloomfield man wins $10,000

LANSING, October 20, 2006 – A very lucky West Bloomfield man matched four white ball numbers and the gold Mega ball number to win a $10,000 prize.  Gordon Stein won the prize from the Oct. 17 Mega Millions drawing.

The 52-year-old salesman learned of his good fortune from the Lottery’s Web site.  He plans to pay bills with his easy pick win.

Stein purchased the lucky winning ticket at Cronin’s Party Store, 29476 Northwestern Hwy., in Southfield.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 10,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
