64-year-old claims Mega prize

LANSING, September 20, 2006 – David Mills from Warren matched four white numbers and the Mega ball to win a $10,000 prize.  The regular Lottery player matched the numbers during the Sept. 15 Mega Millions drawing.

Mills learned of his good fortune on the Lottery’s Web site and plans to pay off his mortgage with the winnings.  In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hunting and golfing.

The lucky easy pick ticket was purchased at Warren Liquor Shoppe, 29814 Hoover Rd., in Warren.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 10,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
