LANSING, September 11, 2006 – Friday, Sept. 8 was a very lucky day! Five Michigan Mega Millions tickets matched five white balls, without matching the Mega ball to win $250,000!
The first of the lucky five, Steven Williams, claimed his prize today.
Williams is from Waterford and has been playing the Lottery since he turned 18. He was in “disbelief” when he saw his numbers on the Michigan Lottery Web site.
He plans to use the prize money to pay bills. The winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Dixie & William’s Mobile, 4805 Dixie Hwy., in Waterford.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 10,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
