LANSING, August 17, 2006 – A very lucky Lansing man is $10,002 richer after he matched all eight numbers in an 8-Spot Club Keno drawing. He also matched four of eight on another draw for the extra $2.
The lucky winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said he hid the ticket in his pocket before claiming his winnings at the Lottery office in Lansing.
The winning “own pick” ticket was purchased at The Airport Tavern, 5000 N Grand River, in Lansing.
Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
